Sixty-one percent of businesses are struggling to grow and are not reaching their productivity, sales or revenue goals. 

 

So what is holding them back?  

 

According to their owners and managers, over 90 percent of these businesses are being held back by their people.  People that are unreliable, unethical, unmotivated and unskilled to do the job they were hired to do. 

 

Am I describing any of the employees in your company?  If so, they are holding YOU back. 

 

If you spend any of your time and energy managing someone who can’t (or won’t) do the job you’ve hired them to do, you will never accomplish your business goals.  Time spent solving problems and motivating is time away from business development and sales growth.

Here’s another important fact about these individuals holding you back:  It’s not their fault they can’t or won’t do the job.  They didn’t come into the job with the natural competencies, behaviors and motivation… and they will never have them. 

 

So then whose fault is it that they are failing?  It’s yours because you are the one who hired them for the job they didn’t fit.

 

And whose fault is it now that they are holding your business back?  Yours (even more) because you’ve kept them in a job they don’t fit. 

 

Odds are, along with the productivity issues they create, their team is struggling with conflict, apathy and customer service problems too.  Which all leads to lower revenue for your business.  You’ve probably retrained them, given them a mentor, changed their job description, performed employee reviews, given ultimatums, etc., and they still are holding you back. 

 

So what is left for you to do?  Do I really need to tell you?

 

Start Hiring Only Productive & Profitable People

 

When you are ready to take your business to the next level of productivity and profitability, you are going to need productive and profitable people in EVERY position of your company.  Not just your management or sales positions, but every position.  

 

Whether this takes starting all over with an entirely new staff or just replacing a few mis-hires, your goal in the future is to only hire the right people.  And I guarantee, you will not be able to do this by hiring the same way you have in the past. 

 

How do I know?  Because 98% of companies hire the same way.  They run an ad in the paper or on-line, get a stack of resumes, schedule interviews, ask the same 10 pointless questions their competitors are asking (that your candidates has prepared for) and then base their decision on “gut feel” (AKA: chance and luck).

 

And 74% of employees hired this way fail to produce…
